Materials play a leading role in the overall impacts of a product—contributing roughly 60% of its environmental footprint.

At Anjum Khan, we believe in the importance of timeless design and are committed to creating long-lasting garments. The process starts with sourcing the finest materials to bring our designs to life.

Every fabric we choose is a conscious decision—for the planet, for the people who wear our clothes and for the future we’re all part of building. We work exclusively with low-impact, biodegradable, and thoughtfully sourced materials that balance comfort, durability, longevity and environmental responsibility. Each piece in our collection is designed to last, and crafted to inspire.

The raw materials we choose affect the way:

1

your AK clothes
look and feel on you (damn good)

2

you wash your
garment (bye, microplastics)

3

you recycle your
garment (hello, forever)

  • Organic Cotton

The vast majority of cotton we use (over 75%!) is certified organic from seed to shirt—via other third-party verified organic manufacturing standards. Using organic cotton means cleaner and lower water usage, lower pesticide use, healthier soil, and a safer working environment for cotton farmers, compared to conventional cotton production.

  • Linen

Made from flax: a fast-growing, plant-based fiber that's rapidly renewable, uses basically no water to grow, and can be processed without hazardous chemicals. People have been wearing linen for forever because it's really durable if you care for it right. Certified by OEKO-TEX® 100.

  • Tencel™ Lyocell

    (Our holy grail of fibers)

Regenerated cellulose that's like cotton, but way more sustainable. Tencel™ is made mostly from rapidly renewable Eucalyptus trees and takes 5x less land and 80% less water to grow than cotton. Closed-loop to cut chemical and water waste. Certified by OEKO- TEX® 100, loved by us.

  • Tencel™ Modal

So soft, you’d probably never guess it’s made from trees. But it is. Tencel™ Modal fibers help to retain the softness of fabrics even after repeated washing and support a natural dry feeling through effective moisture control. Tencel™ Modal fibers are produced using resource-efficient technology with high recovery rates of chemicals.

  • Viscose - Linen

Crafted from a delicious blend of viscose & linen, this midweight fabric boasts a fluid drape and uniquely slubby texture. Naturally breathable and opaque with an airy weave, this fabric is perfect to wear all year round, layered up during cooler months and on its own when it’s warm out. Soft to the touch with a rustic lived-in feel, we love this versatile blend for all sorts of breezy tops & shirts, flowy dresses and comfy loungewear makes!

  • Hemp

Hemp is a strong, long-lasting fiber that requires little water to cultivate. Plus, it naturally replenishes soil quality and grows without the need for harmful herbicides or pesticides—making it light on the planet too. Along with being eco-friendly, hemp is also inherently antimicrobial and easy on the skin.

Our Innovative Next-Gen Materials

We’re exploring innovative next-gen materials made out of bio-based alternatives like silk, soy-bean, and organic sugarcane, which combine the quality of traditional fabrics with a lower environmental footprint.

  • Bemberg™ Satin Silk

Bemberg™ Satin Silk is an innovative, sustainable textile made from renewable cotton linter, which is the short, downy fiber that enfolds the cotton seed. All the impurities are removed from this tiny material, transforming it into a thread. The resulting fabric is incredibly soft, lightweight, breathable and versatile. We've chosen this silky yarn for our outfits as it's perfect for layering and for warmer weather. With its silky-smooth texture, Bemberg fabric offers a luxurious feel against the skin, ensuring a comfortable and indulgent wearing experience.

  • Vegetable Cashmere

Vegetable Cashmere™, also known as Soy fabric is plant-based; 100% natural; biodegradable. It's a new eco-friendly fabric made from a byproduct of soybean processing, environmentally friendly and free of animal fibers. It has the softness and luster of silk, the drape and durability of cotton, and the warmth and comfort of cashmere.

  • Organic Sugarcane

Sugarcane fabric, derived from bagasse, the residue of sugarcane processing, is a sustainable textile renowned for its eco-friendly qualities.
